Bimbo Akintola is one of the most versatile personalities in
the Nollywood Industry. She is the third child of a family of six and a Native
of Oyo State. Born to a Muslim cleric father and a mother who runs her own
business, Bimbo has always been a triple threat; apart from acting, she loves
to sing and dance.
Bimbo attended the Maryland Convent Private School in Lagos
for her primary education and that was where she started acting as a pupil with
her peers in the end-of-year drama events. The more plays she took part in, the
greater her passion was for acting. By the time she got into Command Day
Secondary School, Lagos, acting had become an effortless skill for Bimbo. With
her passion for acting, Bimbo proceeded to study Theatre Arts and holds both a
national Diploma Certificate and a first degree in Theatre Arts from the
University of Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria.
Her first role was in the movie titled ‘Out of Bounds’ for
which she was awarded the Best Actress/English Actress in Nigeria. She is also
a cross-over actress having featured in countless of Yoruba movies.
